Famous Swiss watch maker has created the Weems Second-Setting Watch and donated this gorgeous timepiece to the American captain Philip van Horn Weems. The watch case, done in 18k rose gold, is done in 128 rose gold, is absolutely fabulous.

Philip van Horn Weems is famous for his outstanding invention: a watch that is able to complement the plane’s on-board chronometers. Via a mechanism that can receives radio time signal, the watch can achieves displaying exact same time as the chronometers and the pilots have no need to regulate the hands during the fly.

The Weems Second-Setting Watch comes with an attractive case sized at 47.50 mm. The watch case has fitted with a a sapphire crystal at the front to protect the dial and enhance the time reading. And the case back features an engraved, individually-numbered cover with a sapphire crystal window to reveal the movement.

Well, beating inside the watch is the L699 / ETA A07 111 calibre, an automatic movement with 24 rubies. This movement beats at 28,800vphs and delivers 46-hours power reserve. It also has balance wheel. It provides just hours, minutes and seconds.

The lacquered white dial features large classic Arabic numerals and blued hands. And there is light champagne zone on the center. Longines is the right brand to go if you want to buy a beautiful jewelry lady’s watch with nice luxury touch and affordable price tag. Recently, Longines introduced another women’s watch collection Primaluna to consolidate its position in mid-priced luxury women’s watch market. While I am not crazy about most Longines men’s watches, I find their ladies’ offerings are gold choices for men who want to select nice watches for special women in their life.

The Logines Primaluna collection contains various styles and offers a range of price levels from mid-priced steel models with quartz movements to ultra luxury gold models with diamond decoration and automatic mechanical movements. And all models have feminine round case sized at 30mm, classic bracelet of fine jewelry style and a sapphire cryatal face. And each watch is water resistant to 100 meters.

Even the entry-level models grow on me. I love those various dial designs and the nice Roman numerals and blued steel hands with a deep connection to Cartier classic models. The hour markers are also available in diamonds. And Longines offers all steel, all rose gold and Two tone models for choosing. The rose gold is either the case material itself or a plated tone.

Ovall, the styles on these watches are not new but definitely classic. I believe no discerning women will say no before these timepieces. I applause for Longines efforts in creating and launching this brand new women’s collection. And I appreciate that Longines makes it a collection that a wide range of customers can choose from with diverse designs and price tags.

Briefer Review of Longines Lindbergh Atlantic Voyage Chronograph

Return to its historical roots, Longines recently release Lindbergh Atlantic Voyage Chronograph in either stainless steel or 18k rose gold. New Longines watches look simple and elegant with a little retro touch.

The case is rather large with a diameter of 47.5mm. The bezel features exquisite curved edge. The hinged and engraved case back is fitted with sapphire crystal to reveal the Caliber L705 with 42-hour power reserve.The movement provides standard time and chronograph functions which are visualized by the central blued hands and two subdials-the small seconds at 9 and the 30-minute counter at 3.

Both versions have two dial options-silver or gray. The dial uses classic Arabic numerals to tell the hours, minutes and the speed-there is an internal tachymeter scale-stylish and tasteful.
