The delicated perpetual calendar displays the date, day of the week, moon phases, months, and the year and century in a leap-year cycle. If you take a careful look at the upper dial, you’ll find that there is an AM/PM indicator located just above the watch hands. What’s more, there are two small cutouts at the watch hands so the indicator will not be blocked by the watch hands. This is really considerate.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso is regarded by many as one of the most classic watches that is still being produced and sold nowadays.In my humble opinion, if there is a top 10 classic watches, it must be there.And Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Duo is the most simple amd interesting Reverso models in the market. Review of Omega Timeless Olympic Speedmaster 5-Counter Watch

To celebrate the 2008 Beijing Olympic games, Omega specially created a gold limited chronograph watch featuring five Olympic rings style and a new type of movement modification in that year. And the style is so well- received that Omega decided to make it big. Just few days ago, Omega announced the launch of the Omega De Ville 4-Counters Co-Axial Chronograph watch that aimed to grab the market earlier 2010. And now this brand proudly released the Omega Timeless Olympic Speedmaster 5-Counter Watch which, as the name suggests, is a sexy combo of Speedmaster design features and the timeless Olympic games touch. And this new Omega watch houses the same movement as the De Ville model mentioned above.

To my knowledge, there are at least two more Seamaster and Speedmaster inspired watches are activated by the same movement. What is more, they are are members of the new Timeless Olympic collection that has Olympic design cues. Ans as fare as I know, these timepieces are all limited editions. Anyway, I am thrilled that the adorable movement can power more nice watches.

This Omega Timeless Olympic Speedmaster 5-Counter watch becomes my favorite. It is the best with simple style yet elegant look. Omega gives it the new Speedmaster case and the merits of some classic models. The dial is quite clean with few text, and looks quite retro with vintage Red Omega logo and old-fashioned Arabic numerals. And the match of arrow hour hand and dagger minute hand is classic and tasteful. The bezel with tachymetre scale is faithful to the Speedmaster style.

The watch is likely to be 42mm wide and done in stainless steel. And the case back will most likely bears the Olympics themed engraving.Beating inside the watch is the Omega Caliber 3888 Co-Axial automatic movement that provides both chronograph functions and calendar. And the watch is expected to hit stores early 2010 with a price tag around 5,380 euros.

And in celebration of this collection’s 50^th anniversary, Corum has created the Admiral’s Cup Minute Repeater Tourbillon 45 that is exclusively limited to 10 pieces.The exceptional watch houses the CO 010 caliber, the brand’s new horological achievement. Accoring to Corum watches, this movement took the brand’s best watch-making craftsmen two years to develop and adjust. And the movement has been equipped with two of the most sophisticated complications in the watch making industry-the tourbillon and the minute repeater. And I think the complexity in manufacturing is part the reasons behind the extreme low production.

As we know, a sailor’s life is punctuated by the ringing bells. And the introduction of a minute repeater to an Admiral’s Cup represents Corum’s respect to marine and sea enthusiasts. The Corum craftsmen meticulously treated each components and presented minute repeater of adorable precision and beautiful tones. The minutes-rack, fitted at the very center of the ringing mechanism, has been enlarged to allow a wider lift angle to each tooth and thus extends the interval between notes. The racks that hit the gongs are crafted from high-grade steel of excellent resistance to corrosion and adorable hardness. And counter-springs has been fittingly constructed to catch the perfect balance of the hitting strength and the speed. The rhythm of the rings is controlled by the rotation of an inertial flywheel. The gongs, made from an alloy sporting a composition and thermal treatment that remains a top secret, mark the hours with an A note and minutes with C note. The specific sequence of the two selected notes forms a major third that is cheerful and harmonious.And the tourbillon featuring Silicium escapement and pallets greatly contribute to the precision of the entire mechanism.

The iconic case , sized at 45mm, is done in 18kt red gold 5N and features fine satin finish. The watch crown bears CORUM key, and four lugs features polished finish. And the legendary twelve-sided satin-finished and polished bezel contains a hidden mechanism that winds the the minute repeater function by rotating the bezel 27 degrees clockwise. This innovative system not only keeps the the integrity of the ringing mechanism, but also contribute to the pure lines and the 300-meter water resistance of the case.

The display case back and the smoked PVD treated sapphire crystal dial together exhibits the extremely complex CO 010 Manual-winding movement that is 32mm wide and just 5.35 thick. The movement delivers 6 days power reserve and has received refined finishing. The gray treatment of the dial ,surrounded by the flange with monochrome nautical golden index chevrons and minute numbers l flags, brings a touch touch of sobriety. And the dial is complemented by golden writings and Red gold 5N coated minutes and minute chevrons and minute markers as well.

Officine Panerai proudly announces the launch of the 47mm Radiomir Titanium. This special edition watch is based on legendary Radiomir that was first made as a prototype in 1936 and started production in 1938.

The 47mm Radiomir Titanium will be made in extremely limited edition of just 12 pieces as it just targets the senior Panerai watch collectors and lovers who know, respect and love the brand’s past and legendary models.

This Panerai watch carries the original “cushion case” but is done in titanium(the original models were made from steel), an exceptional material that famous for its extreme light-weight and excellent resistance to corrosion. And different from the historical models of welded lugs, the case features removable lugs thanks to the patented Officine Panerai pusher that makes the replacement of the bracelet much easier than before. And beating inside the watch is the hand-would caliber OP XXVII based on a Minerva base. This exclusive in-house movement by Panerai delivers a power reserve of 55 hours and can be admired through the display case back fitted with sapphire crystal.

The dial, basically, has the same style as the original models but is added with a warm hint of rose gold on the hands and the knurled ring. The display features three indexes, four Roman numerals, four Arabic numerals and a triangle at 12 o’clock positions. The hands are coated with rich luminescent materials to ensure reading in the darkness. And the dial has a 1.9mm thick sapphire crystal cover.

The watch resistance of the watch reaches 100 meters thanks to the well-constructed conical-shaped crown. And the 47mm Radiomir Titanium, ref. PAM00349 is just available in Panerai boutiques.

The well-received Portuguese collection was enriched by two new models recently: the IWC red gold chronograph and the IWC Portuguese Automatic. The former, featuring warth color tones, is the the seventh variation in the IWC Portuguese Chrongraph collection, while the latter with horizontally aligned subdials is the fifth variation of the Portuguese Automatic. Both models are nice choices for daily wearing.

The Portuguese collection reserved a room for chronographs was based on the fact that precision timing was as essential as navigation skills to the Portuguese seafarers. This movement has been equipped with the brand’s unique Pellaton winding system and delivers adorable 7 day power reserve. The new IWC Portuguese Automatic costs $13,500.

Zenith Lauched the Vintage 55 Watch

French owned but Swiss based luxury watch maker Zenith recently launched the Zenith Vintage 55 watch to showcase the brand’s decision to change for new direction. Zenith has been offering nice looking watches of no souls or characters for years. So world’s Zenith watch lovers have great expectation for this watch. They want something interesting, inspiring and buyable from this brand. OK, let’s have a close look.

The Zenith Vintage 55 watch, sized at 40mm, is crafted from 18k rose gold. The brown dial features hands and hour markers in same material to echo with the case tone. And the Dauphine hands really make sense for the arrow hour markers that feature “cut” in the middle. The seconds subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock position is quite simplified yet very tasteful. Beating inside the watch is the caliber 689 automatic movement which is in-house made by Zenith and is is COSC chronometer certified. It features a 22k gold rotor and is just 44 thick. The movement, in my humble opinion, is the most valuable part of the watch.

Representing a change for the brand though, the watch is not good enough as expected. I have to admit that Zenith has put everything in right place, but it seems that it forgets to add new characters to this watch. Honestly, at first sight, Zenith Vintage 55 just reminds me of similar models from Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, Omega watches and many others. Luckily, it at least looks trendy and nice with retro appearance and brown dial.

And the reasonable price tag is the biggest advantage before its many competitors. Zenith Vintage 55 watch is limited to 100 pieces worldwide.

New Watch – New Perrelet Turbine Collection

Watch maker Perrelet has released the new Turbine collection of based on the intensive technical research of their engineers who deny the laws of gravity. The Turbine watches are powered by the Perrelet P-181 automatic movements of double rotor.

The double rotor has been transformed into a turbine of 12 titanium blades that make up the dial and present an intensive visual attack. The dial is flamed by an black raised area with luminous numbers. The designers also add under the dial to create a more sensational impact.

To reflect the specifications of a fuselage and its aerodynamics, the Turbine comes with a 44mm concave-shaped case resembling with the original appearance of the reactor.And the watch crown in integrated into the case to ensure pure lines. A latch is specially added to the crown to facilitate the winding and the resetting. And the case, sized at 44mm, is available in 18k pink gold, plain titanium or DLC treated titanium. The watch is water resistant to 500 meters.

The Perrelet P-181 beats at a frequency of 28,800vph and delivers 42 hours power reserve. Except the double double rotor, this movement features black lacquered bridges and oscillating weight by the aeronautical sector. The refined finish and the intricate operation of this movement can be admired through the sapphire crystal case back.

Review of the Latest Hublot Commando Bang Watches

It is likely that few soldiers will wear a luxury timepiece in the cruel and dangerous battle even if he is rich or the watch has been disguised in camouflage pattern. But it seems that Swiss luxury watch makers are creating the trend of camouflage watches. Not long ago, Ulysse Nardin launched a Maxi Marine Diver model with camouflage dial. And now Hublot releases two Commando Bang watches featuring brown or green camouflage pattern on the dial and the strap.

And the Hublot Commando Bang watches, with clear jungle/desert camo styles. are the newest members of the brand’s huge Bang family. Representing the old school style , the camouflage patterns the entire watch faces and the straps.

By far, no detailed specifications of the watches are provided. But I guess the case size is standard 44.5mm And the cases are probably made from steel and coated with the so-called professional man-made fibers with NOMEX, while ceramic and Kevlar are applied on the bezel or the case inserts. The straps are also made with fibers with NOMEX.And both the cases and the straps are fire and extreme temperature resistant.

Personally, I really appreciate the ideas and love the cool looks of the watches. The dials of camo are very pleasing to look at. By the way, these pieces remind me of an 80’s era Arnold. I imagine how cool he would have been when he shows off such a watch on his strong wrist and lights a cigar on the commando gear.

I guess beating inside the watch is an an ETA 2894-2 automatic movement which is the standard choice for Hublot. And as far as I know of , the Hublot Commando watches will not go for large volume sales. Instead, they will be made in limited number
