My favorite piece in JeanRichard 2009 watch collection is the 2TimeZones Zirconim watch which is also the JeanRichard’s flagship product this year. Bearing the brand’s over 3-hundred years tradition and the innovative sprits, it is a surprise hit a many fans of JeanRichard watches.
As the name suggests , the case of the new JeanRichard 2TimeZones watch is done in an alloy of zirconium. To watch-making and to the many watch lovers, zirconium is almost a stranger.Though widely used in making medical equipment and aircrafts, zirconium is fresh to watch-making and many watch lovers. This material outshines other materials adopted in watchpmaking when it comes to resistance to shocks, corrosion and high temperatures.
As you can see from the picture, zirconium featuring warm matt texture offers nice contrast with the smooth vulcanised rubber-coated steel bezel
Thanks to the in-house developed and made automatic mechanical JR1060 calibre movement, the watch displays double time zones at the same time one through the traditional central hands that indicate the local hours,minutes and seconds, and the other one via the large aperture at 12. And the city being displayed is revealed though the window at 6.
As you may have noticed, the case structure is quite balanced as it is fitted with a crown at both site. Both crowns are coated with black PVD. And the one at 3 is used to set the time and the date, and the other at 9 is to set the city that represents the second time zone.
