The Breguet Classique 5967 watch that was quite well received in Baselworld 2009 is now finally available.
Oviously, Breguet designers have the focus on the dial that features sophisticated chess board on the center. According Breguet, the pattern called Art Deco Damier is their latest in-house developed. guilloche pattern. However, this pattern is actually not new since it has been used for a long time in in other types of art such as carpentry, architecture and painting, though it is first applied on the watch decoration thanks to the metal guilloche engraving mastered by Breguet. And the resule is not half bad. At least, it adds a modern feel to the classic profile of the case. Other details on the dial is meticulously treated like all Breguet watches. Powred by the Breguet Calibre 506.2 pocket watch movement, the dial displays just hours and minutes with elegant blued hands. The 20-jewels movement has 40-hour power reserve.
Sized at 41mm, the case is done in ether yellow gold or white gold fine finishes. It has a display case back that allow you to enjoy the operation of the lovely movement. The watch is water resistant to just 30 meters.
As far as I know the price for the white gold version is $17,300, and $16,400 for the yellow gold version.
