In 2007, Cartier solemnly launched Ballon Bleu which is a perfect fusion of classical and futural style, featuring over-sized sapphire cabochon crown,  numeral marking enlarging by wonderful optical effect and three dimensional case. In a word, ballon bleu presents Cartier’s unfettered imagination and ultimate create spirits.

However, as know to all, ballon bleu is not Cartier’s first time revolution and breakthrough. Since its establishment in 1847, Cartier has been willfully walking between high-quality jewelry and professional wristwatches and has been always staying ahead of trends through its distinctive vision and innovative designs.

In 1904, Luis Cartier created one of the ancestors of modern wristwatch—Santos Wristwatch which laid a foundation for the widespread use of wristwatches and also found a solution for his friend Santos Dumont, a pilot, who complaint that he could not read the time during the flight time. In 1919 Cartier gave birth to Tank watch which was the very important object in wristwatch history. Surprisingly, the design was inspired by Renalt tanks, the most powerful weapon in the World War; The Paris Limitied Edition, sporting classic appearance, simple design and exquisite movement, represents Cartier’s traditional art style; La Dona De catches inspiration from animal world and plays the theme “Crocodile-Totem of Beauty Maria Felix” to extremes. And the Libre wins the name of “ Sculpture Art” in wristwatch field with brand-new shape and flawless Jewelry inlay craftwork.

“Innovation” is the most important gene of Cartier who, as a forthgoer, always leads the trend with new designes. I believe, we will together witness Cartier create more classic works in the future.
